Dr. Howard has been practicing dentistry in LaVerkin for over 24 years. He has taken extensive training in cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics and has a passion for creating beautiful smiles.
He loves his work and loves meeting people. It is his constant concern that his patients receive the highest quality dental care in a comforting and painless environment.

Dr. Hugh J Howard grew up in LaVerkin and attended Hurricane High School. After serving an LDS mission
to California he attended Dixie College before transferring to Brigham Young University. After graduating with honors
he attended the University of Utah and then the University of Washington in Seattle where he received his doctorate Degree in
Dentistry in 1985. Dr. Howard strives for excellence in all that he does and is determined to provide his patients the best
and most up to date dental care possible. He has taken hundreds of hours of continuing education courses in orthodontics,
cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery and other aspects of dentistry. He loves his patients and his work and works hard
to insure that every one of his patients have a comfortable and pleasant experience at the dentist.
Dr. Howard has been in practice on State Street in LaVerkin for nearly 25 years. He is active in his community and church and has volunteered many hours serving the youth in athletics, music and scouting. He and his wife Margaret have 5 children and 3 grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He loves the outdoors hiking with his wife and riding motorcycles with his boys. Music has always been a hobby throughout his life and he loves to sing, play the piano & guitar and write music. Athletics has also been a hobby of his and he enjoys Running, Tennis, Skiing and playing Basketball. |

Nicole Stout is one of our 3 hygienists and has worked in our office for 5 years now. She is kind, gentle and caring and best of all, she’s Doctor Howard’s daughter. She is married to Jed Stout and has three beautiful children. She normally works in our office on Fridays but occasionally will work on other days also. Nicole graduated from Hurricane High School in 1999 as class Valedictorian. She went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Dixie State College in 2001 with her Associates Degree. She attended a year at BYU before being accepted into the prestigious Dixie State College Dental Hygiene Program. She graduated Cum Laude from the program in 2004, and was voted “most employable” by her professors. She, along with her Hygiene class, were ranked #1 nationally on their state written boards, and Nicole scored a 98% on her clinical board. She loves working for her dad and is so grateful for the opportunity to work in such a wonderful office! |

Tonya Beutler grew up in Preston, Idaho. She attended Ricks College and later Idaho State University where she graduated with a bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene. She has practiced for 17 years, first in Pocatello and Burley Idaho, then in St. George and LaVerkin Utah after moving here in 1995. She is also an adjuct instructor at the Dixie College Dental Hygiene program and is an active member of the Utah Dental Hygienists Association. Tonya is happily married to Doug and together they have 5 children ranging from 15 to 7. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her kids, playing and listening to music, creative writing, four-wheeling, and loves to throw neighborhood night game parties for her kids and their friends. She enjoys a good rodeo, loves most country music, and likes to watch and play volleyball and softball. She and her husband own a small trucking company and move manufactured homes. She really loves reading books, both fiction and non, and her favorite quote this week is by Mother Teresa "Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting." |

Nancy Carter Theobald is one of our talented assistants. She joined Dr. Howard's team 7 years ago and loves her job. She is a kind and gentle assistant and loves meeting people. She married David Theobald of Toquerville over 30 years ago, raised 3 beautiful daughters and now has 5 wonderful grandchildren. |

Claudia Pierce works at our front desk. She loves people and has a wonderful sense of humor. She is a native of LaVerkin and is related to practically everyone here in town. She loves working for Dr. Howard and with everyone in the office. She is married to Eldon Pierce and they have 3 wonderful children and 7 beautiful grandchildren. |

Cindy Simmons has been with our office for 2 years now and considers us her 2nd family. She is an expert at getting the insurance companies to pay their promised benefits and also works part time at the front desk. She has been married to Kevin Simmons for 19 years now and together they have 4 children. |

Sheri Scott was born and raised in Cedar City Ut. She started working as a dental assistant in high school and discovered she enjoyed working in the dental field. In 1998 she was accepted into the Dixie State College dental hygiene program where she earned her degree and met her husband. She graduated in May of 2000 and married her husband Robert Scott a month later. They now have three daughters and a dog. Sheri has been practicing dental hygiene for 9 and a half years and joined Dr. Howards dental team in the summer of 2008 and has enjoyed every minute of it. |

Everybody loves Raelene Postma . She's been working as an assistant for Dr. Howard since 1991 and has loved every minute of it. She loves people and is always concerned for their welfare. She has an incredible memory and if she isn't related to someone you know she's sure to remember you from somewhere. She's married to Henry Postma from Hurricane and has 4 wonderful children and 6 beautiful grandchildren. |

| Dental bonding is a procedure in which a tooth-colored resin material (a durable plastic material) is applied and hardened with a special light, which ultimately bonds the material to the tooth to restore or improve a person's smile. | Dental veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length. | Orthodontics focuses on straightening teeth and correcting problems with the way the teeth come together to chew food. Orthodontics reduce irregular wear on teeth. It can also cut down on stress to the jaw and gums. |
